Checking Ranunculus & Anemone Corms

I took the advice of Northlawn Flower Farm to check my ranunculus and anemone corms for any that are damaged or moldy. My corms have been in our garage which hovers between 32-40 degrees, which is a little chilly for storage. But all is well. The corms are looking good! I plan to pre-sprout them around March 1.

Self-watering Seed Starting Setup

I'll be going out of town in a few weeks and that means I have to figure out a way to keep the seedlings alive! This setup is a combination of a few different ideas I found online. It basically consists of a large boot tray + pvc corners + ceiling grid + wicking material + cell trays. I may do a longer post on this a little later.

Tulips in a Pitcher Design Practice

I took a course from Willow Crossley this fall and wanted to practice her style using tulips and chicken wire as a base. So I grabbed a bunch of tulips from the grocery store and tried it out. I quickly realized I needed a lot more tulips and some other filler to fill it out. But the chicken wire worked perfectly.
