Cafe au Lait Dahlia Cuttings
It's time to bring the dahlia tubers out from storage and pot them up for cuttings. I decided to start with Cafe au Lait. The tubers are roughly a 7 out of 10 - slightly shriveled but otherwise healthy. After trimming and splitting, I buried them up to their necks in damp potting soil. They are now waking up on my heat mats and should start sending up green shoots in a few weeks.
Small Batch Seed Sowing
This is how I like to describe the varieties that I only need a few of, like perennials, vegetables, etc. I usually use a six-cell cell pack and either plant one or two to a cell. This method allows me to satisfy my curiosity to try new varieties without taking up too much space and I don't think I'll ever master the art of 'less is more' in terms of what I am growing. These packs are also easy to combine into a 72 10x20 try or move around individually.

FOUND: Wedding Favor Seeds from 2016
We tucked these wildflower seeds into the napkin at each place setting at our wedding reception as a favor. The funny thing is, I can't, for the life of me, remember what inspired me to do this. I don't think anyone actually planted the seeds (myself included). Maybe it was foreshadowing my flower farming pursuit. Anyways, with very low expectations, I think I will reserve a small space to sprinkle a few packets of these seeds this summer! We'll see what happens ...
